About Mumee Matters

You, your baby and the fourth trimester… The ups and downs of the joys of having a baby along with the rollercoaster of emotions, hormones, constant nappies and changes of clothes.

Life can become a bit overwhelming. People say sleep when the baby sleeps…recently, people have been asking if that is true, should they also do the dishes when the baby does the dishes then? And this just sums up the fourth trimester…

We’re overwhelmed, overstimulated, over tired, and then we have to cope with a whole other human! And often we focus so much on that new amazing tiny human that we forget about ourselves. We forget that we too need care, food, the occasional nap… that our health and wellbeing is also a priority.

The first two weeks fly by with the help of your partner/family and then all of a sudden they go back to work and you are left alone, not only to carry on managing your household and getting on with life again but doing all this with a newborn!

All of a sudden you’re not quite sure how to cope…how can you look after baby, yourself, cook, clean, do the laundry, plan meals, shop, walk the dog etc?

And you shouldn’t have to try and manage all of this by yourself! Motherhood is hard, there is nothing quite like it and you should be as gentle on yourself as you can.

Mumee Matters is here to help you! We are all about showing you that you matter too! And in order to ease yourself into motherhood you need to look after yourself! Be that taking time for yourself - a bath, a nap or having someone do the basics for you so you don’t feel overwhelmed and drowning in laundry - we are here to transition you back as gently as possible.

We want you to look back at this time with fond memories and happiness. We want you to enjoy your journey through motherhood, not to look back and remember exhaustion and tears.

This is the most special time in your life, and your happiness, health, and self care should not take a back seat, and should rather be a priority, so ensure you can be the best version of yourself for your baby.
